The Visit Supervisor maintains a non-judgmental and supportive attitude. He/she assists with the coordination of the Family Access Service, parenting skills and facilitates parent/child interactions when required. The access worker is present at all times to observe and document interactions between parent and child, encourages appropriate conduct and when possible, redirects inappropriate conduct. The Visit Supervisor will intervene or terminate the visits if it’s in the best interest of the children.
The Role of the Visit Supervisor in supervised access
Supervised Access
This intervention is used for the purpose of ensuring the children’s safety while visiting with the non-custodial parent. During supervised access the visit supervisor ensures that parent-child interactions will be supervised at all times. Every attempt will be made to do so in a discreet manner. The Visit Supervisor will also provide written observation reports and share information with custodial parent on an ongoing basis.
